Neuro-Vascular Reflex (NV)

Nov 1, 2021 | Vocabulary

Also referred to as Bennett’s reflexes, they refer to a specific set of points that enhance the blood flow in various glands and organs when stimulated. The Neurovascular reflexes are a connection between the nervous system and the circulatory system. Stimulating the proper Neurovascular reflex will change the blood flow to the linked organ and can balance the related Meridian's energy.

These Reflexes are located mainly on the head and are usually held with very light digital pressure for about 30 seconds in order to bring more energy into the meridian involved. Holding NV points while exerting firmer pressure or tapping the points can be used to sedate a meridian with too much Qi (see Alarm Points).

NV reflexes were first described by Terence Bennet, a chiropractor, in the early 1930's.
